DREAMS CAN COME TRUE!

We recently secured funding from the OFG Dream Big Trust to sponsor a local football team.

The idea came from Natalie Holland, TA, whose daughter Ella plays for Derby County Ladies U11s.  Football is obviously in the blood as Natalie herself played football for Littleover Dazzlers in her youth!

Last season Ella won the U10’s Development Player of the Year and her team also won the U11’s Cup final, they played a year up last season in a girls’ league and this season they are playing in the U11’s Derbyshire boys’ league.  They have already won their first game of the season!

The sponsorship provided by OFG Dream Big Trust has provided the team with valuable resources and a fantastic new kit for the upcoming season. 

It also brings a series of benefits to the school, with the team offering Longdon Park School pupils use of their facilities and promotion in match-day programmes.  Alongside this is the social value of helping promote women’s football at grass roots level and in turn hopefully inspiring more girls to take up football in the future.

We wish the team all the success for the season and can’t wait to receive a framed signed shirt for our school reception.  Who knows, we could see Ella in the line-up for England Lionesses one day!
