Home News & Events Longdon Park School’s Organic Crop
Colleagues and pupils from Longdon Park School are enjoying the fruits of their labour because all of the vegetables planted last spring and grown organically in the recently developed Forest School programme have now been harvested.
The kitchen team was delighted to receive a crop of curly kale, garlic and onions which they incorporated into the menu for the week. Pupils who had never heard of kale were keen to try it for the first time and it got rave reviews.
Pupils have thoroughly enjoyed the journey from seed to plate. It’s encouraged them to think about sustainability and how they can be more environmentally friendly.
